Age Range Recommendations

Recommended age ranges are listed for each class based on developmental  and/or academic standards.   However, we are flexible and here to meet you and your child's individual needs.  If you feel a class at a different age/grade level would be more appropriate, please contact the studio so that we can assist with enrollment.

Movement Matters (Ages 3 yrs - Up)

The Movement Matters classes are designed specifically to meet the needs of students who have ADHD, Autism, and are differently-abled.  However, ALL children are encouraged to participate.  The objective of each class is to provide an experience that promotes creativity, to acknowledge the unique learning needs of each individual, and to make movement fun for all.

~DANCE~ Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of dance while increasing coordination, spatial awareness, balance, flexibility, creativity, and self-esteem.

~YOGA~ All students will learn the power of breath, movement, and meditation/relaxation to assist with self-regulation, motor planning, balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility.  Participants will learn how to promote mindfulness for increased attention and focus.  A variety of poses and activities will be performed during each class.

Preschool Yogis (3 yrs - 5 yrs)

~Yoga~  Children will learn the power of breath as well as age-appropriate yoga sequences for focus, self-regulation, and relaxation.  Yoga games, music, and literature will be utilized as students use their imaginations to build strength and social skills.


ELEMENTARY YOGIS (6 yrs - 9 yrs)

~Yoga~ Children will learn poses and sequences designed to increase focus, flexibility, coordination, and self-esteem combined with relaxation techniques to assist with stress management and self-regulation.  Throughout the class, group activities that incorporate literature, music, and games will be incorporated.  Children will come away with tools and strategies to help them at school and at home!


TWEEN YOGA (10 yrs - Up)

Does your tween/teen have difficulty sleeping?  Are they filled with worry about things they can't control?  Are they always thinking about what's next instead of focusing on the present?  Teaching young adults how to be mindful (the act of focusing on the present), has been scientifically proven to have positive effects on health and well-being.  In this class, tweens/teens will learn how to be mindful as well as how to utilize yoga poses to assist with focus, relaxation, confidence, self-esteem, and an overall feeling of well-being.  The skills learned will be beneficial at home, in the classroom, on the field, in a studio, or wherever needed!

TEEN YOGA (13yrs - Up)

Teen Yoga is an introduction class that is designed to inspire and empower. Young adulthood is often a stressful time filled with anxiety, self-doubt, and insecurity. This class offers an environment where the student can be part of a community that is specific to them. Teen Yogis will learn fundamental postures in a supportive and non-competitive environment while gaining flexibility, strength, and focus. They will build self-esteem and learn how to reduce stress though relaxation and breath work. Age: 13+


Family Yoga (6 Week Workshop) is a fun, joyful, yet peaceful way to connect with family members. The class combines the traditional elements of yoga (breathing, postures, meditation, and relaxation) with games, partner poses, music, dancing, laughter, and lots of fun.


The Mind and Movement Project offers private tutoring for students who require additional support in academic areas or who need to be challenged.  Our staff will work with the student, parent(s) and any additional people involved in the child's academic planning to personalize instruction to meet their individual goals and needs.  Yoga, creative movement, and/or fitness breaks will be woven into all lessons.
